  • Integration Exercise

This week we are having you Recode your Leadership, part I which has you recoding human drive and motivation and explore the 6 key roles every leader most hold.  In the exercises below you will learn how to integrate and master each of these 6 roles.

The full instructions are in the RECODE MANUAL AND WORKBOOK for Module 9 with a summary of the exercises below.

    1.  Vision Holder: Vision Communication Worksheet:  This vision communication worksheet will help you create motivation and  a way to communicate a powerful vision quickly.  You’ll get a formula for exactly how to speak about your vision after filling out responses to 6 questions and using those responses to fill in the blanks in the paragraph formula in the Recode Module 9 workbook

    2.  Talent Attractor: 3 Profitable Job Descriptions Exercise:  You’ll be creating descriptions for the next 3 people you’ll want to be working with. Come up with a creative title or role (something that would be attractive to them), 3 metrics that are going to tell you whether they are being successful in that role. the target or goal that you are wanting to reach, the 3 capabilities they’ll need and the risk/ramp time you’ll be investing in for this role.

    3.  Culture Curator Interview:  There are 4 key interactions and 4 circumstances that are highest leverage to track as the culture curator.  In the Module 9 workbook we take you through 4 key questions to ask yourself about the culture of these interactions along with 4 key interview questions to have you and anyone in your organization rate on a scale from 1-10.

    4.  Scorekeeper Exercise:  Look at your goals for the week. Choose a structure of accountability and let us know what you’ve chosen on the Recode Facebook forum. Notice this week if you have a different relationship to your output and outcomes as a result of the new structure of accountability.

    5.  Parts Integration Exercise:  If you are doing the ‘right things’ in the ‘right sequence’ but are still experiencing resistance do the parts exercise in the manual where you invite both opposing parts of you to the table to discuss what the positive intended outcome is for each of those parts to arrive at an appropriate action that preserves what the resistant part of you values and is trying to protect.

  • Self Reflections

Reflections exercises are one or more questions that we’d like you to be in deep consideration of for the entire week.  These are meant to be shared with your family, friends, and community so that they can offer you a more complete 360 view of yourself, your identity, and your reality.

Everyone has blind spots.  These are areas where we are less developed that are outside our view.  Getting reflections will point out things that you might not ever know yourself.

In addition, the more you consider these reflection questions the more likely you’ll be able to break through your current level of thinking and use the exercises to leap frog into a new level of consciousness.

These questions will be posted on the Recode Facebook Forum where they are meant to be responded to by you from week to week.  Here are this weeks reflection exercises:

    1. Which role is most challenging for you? The Vision Holder, The Talent Attractor, The Delegator, The Culture Curator, The Scorekeeper, or The Guardian?
    2. What has been the cost to your projects of these challenges?
    3. What will you do differently in the future?
